cinéforom – Fondation romande pour le cinéma was created in May 2011 in close concertation with the representatives of the moving picture industries in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Our founding members are the Cantons of Fribourg, Geneva, Jura, Neuchâtel, Valais and Vaud as well as the City of Geneva and Lausanne. Our annual budget of approximately 10 MCHF is currently funded via public grants (68%) and lottery funds from the Loterie Romande (32%).
Cine-Regio representative Mr. Gérard Ruey
Gérard Ruey (born in 1953) was appointed General Secretary of Cinéforom on January 1st, 2016.
Since 1974, he works in the film and audiovisual production and collaborated as production assistant then as production manager with Swiss film-makers like Michel Soutter, Jean-Luc Godard, Yves Yersin, Patricia Moraz, Marcel Schüpbach, Jean-François Amiguet.
In 1984 he joined Jean-Louis Porchet at CAB Productions, with whom he produced more than 80 movies (fiction, documentaries or TV-series), among which the trilogy "Trois Couleurs: Bleu-Blanc-Rouge" from Krzysztof Kieslowski, Alain Tanner's numerous movies, « Sils Maria » from Olivier Assayas, and documentaries like "La liste de Carla", "B comme Béjart" or « Retour à Gorée ». His productions " Mein Name ist Bach " from Dominique de Rivaz, "Tout un hiver sans feu" from Greg Zglinski and "Left Foot Right Foot" from Germinal Roaux were awarded at the Swiss Film Award in 2004, 2005 and 2014.
During his career as producer, he is strongly engaged in the national cinematographic politic.
Cine-Regio representative Mrs. Patrizia Pesko
Head of selective and automatic funding.
Born in Berlin (D), 1968, with both German and Swiss nationality, Patrizia Pesko graduated 1997 in Film History at the Università Cattolica in Milan. She worked at the Press office at the International Film Festival Locarno from 1993 to 1999, and from 1999 to 2008, she was a commissioning editor for fiction, animation and documentary at RSI – Radiotelevisione svizzera (Swiss Television SRG SSR).
2003 to 2006, she was a member of the selection committee of short film section at the International Film Festival Locarno, and from 2008 to March 2012, she worked as a consultant for Swiss films and crossmedia projects at SRG SSR head-quarters in Berne.
Patrizia joined Cinéforom – Fondation romande pour le cinéma in April 2012.
